A. Pezzullo, BSN, RN President/CEO
Ms. Pezzullo has over 20 years of clinical research experience, having
founded Omega Medical Research in 1993. Since that time, Ms. Pezzullo
has served as the President and Chief Executive Officer. Ms. Pezzullo
earned her BSN degree from Rhode Island College in 1991. In her capacity
as President and CEO, Ms. Pezzullo oversees the daily business operations
at Omega, fosters business development and community outreach. Prior
to establishing Omega Medical Research, Ms. Pezzullo managed the Dermatology
research program at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence, RI.
Recently, Ms. Pezzullo was nominated for the Small Business Person
of the Year in RI.
|Lynne A. Haughey, MSN, FNP-BC Executive Vice President/COO
Ms. Haughey has over 17 years of clinical research experience, having
co-founded Omega Medical Research in 1993. Since then, Ms. Haughey
has served as Executive Vice President. Ms. Haughey obtained her Master
of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Rhode Island,
and obtained board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner in
1996. Ms. Haughey serves as Sub-Investigator on most trials at Omega,
with over 400 trials completed in this capacity. Additionally, Ms.
Haughey oversees the clinical research staff of coordinators and assistants,
the Patient Recruitment department and the Quality Assurance Program
at Omega. Ms. Haughey previously served as the Director of Critical
Care Nursing at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence, RI and
was the Director of Stratogen Health, a comprehensive HIV/AIDS patient
care center, prior to founding Omega Medical Research.
L. Fried, MD Medical Director/ Chief Principal Investigator
Dr. Fried serves as Medical Director for Omega Medical Research as
well as the Principal Investigator on a significant number of our
clinical drug trials. Dr. Fried has served in this capacity since 1996. Dr. Fried has been PI on over 350 clinical drug trials.
Dr. Fried is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and serves as a
Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Brown University. Dr. Fried is an internist with Coastal Medical, Inc., a regionally based primary
care group practice that serves over 100,000 patients from RI and
A. Feole, BSN, RN - Director of Patient Recruiting
Ms. Feole (Patty) has worked in clinical research since 1999, both working at Pfizer in the Regulatory Affairs Department and at Omega Medical Research. Initially Patty worked at Omega Medical Research as a study coordinator, but it quickly became clear that the recruitment of patients was a strength that she possessed and it is something that she enjoys doing. At the present time Patty oversees our recruitment department, places advertising, outreaches to physicians and utilizes our internal Clinical Trials Database to identify potential patients for our ongoing studies. Patty earned a BA degree in 1992 from RI College and later earned her BSN degree from RI College in 1996. Prior to working in clinical research, for several years, Patty worked at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London, CT as a registered nurse on the Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Post-Partum Unit.
Monica Freeman, Director of Regulatory and Compliance
An employee since 1998, Ms. Freeman is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of Regulatory documents and submissions. Additionally, Ms. Freeman is responsible for developing and implementing research policies and procedures, as well as Standard Operating Procedures. In her role, Ms. Freeman is responsible for the development and implementation of research compliance education and training programs, and leads internal monitoring and auditing in an effort to achieve and maintain research compliance and good clinical practices.
